Elm Tree School has successfully worked with Woodland Primary School over the past 2 years to develop a ‘Re-integration Pathway’ from Special to Mainstream Education.  In 2014 / 2015 this has been successful for 5 pupils.  Three of these pupils have successfully moved from Year 6 to Year 7 Mainstream Secondary Schools.  The success of the project has been tremendous.  Currently two pupils are in the project for 2015 / 2016.  This element will continue and hopefully extend in future years.  The funding for these pupils is passed directly from Elm Tree to the host school.  The Host Schools receive training, advice and support from Elm Tree which promotes good practise and positive relationships between Special and Mainstream Schools.  This has also had significant impact on the schools understanding of Special Educational Needs and various conditions which may be presented as Challenging Behaviour.

Elm Tree will promote re-integration of pupils where appropriate and develop a cluster of mainstream ‘champion schools’ that work closely with Elm Tree to ensure success.
